New PV Policies Officially Implemented

Three types of scenarios, which were most severely constrained by the former 80% transformer load rate cap, will see rapid demand growth following the policy rollout:
1. Rooftop PV for rural residences
Previously, grid connection was restricted in more than 60% of rural areas across the country due to transformer load rates exceeding 80%. Under the new rules, eligible rural rooftops in green zones can submit applications at any time. The installed capacity of residential PV is projected to rise by over 40% within the year.
2. BIPV projects in industrial and commercial parks
Many parks were unable to install PV systems across entire rooftops due to overall load limits in the past. Now, projects located in yellow zones only need to be equipped with a small-scale energy storage system for grid connection, cutting the investment payback period by 2 to 3 years.
3. PV retrofits for public buildings
BIPV projects on schools, hospitals, government office buildings and other public buildings are prioritized for grid connection in green zones. In some regions, additional special subsidies for BIPV are available, reaching a maximum of 0.3 yuan per watt.
