Thailand TISI Mandatory New Rules for Energy Storage Products Take Effect
2026-09-28
Mandatory Certified Products and Corresponding Standards:

⚡ Core Change: Voluntary Certification Directly Switches to Mandatory Access Without Transition Period
Previously, Thailand’s PV and energy storage supporting products only required voluntary TISI certification. Export enterprises enjoyed a simple customs clearance process, short lead time and controllable costs. After the new regulation takes effect in September 2026, there will be no transition buffer. All PV and energy storage equipment sold in the Thai market must pass specified tests and factory audits and obtain TISI certification for legal customs clearance and sales.
At present, the application channel for relevant mandatory certification has been officially opened.
📋 TISI Certification Requirements for Energy Storage Products:
- Certificate Holder: Local Thai importer (factory information will also be shown on the certificate)
- Test Report Requirement: IEC test reports issued within the past 3 years are acceptable. (Issued by laboratories accredited to ISO/IEC 17025)
- Factory Audit Requirement: The audit covers the factory’s production capacity, quality management system, product consistency and relevant production records, with a factory audit report to be issued.
