This means any certificate holder or Australian supplier applying for CEC listing for such products must obtain a full test report to AS/NZS 4777.2:2020 and submit it to SAA for certification notification before the deadline. SAA will issue a certificate addendum, which the certificate holder may lodge with the CEC for registration.

The new edition AS/NZS 4777.2:2020 differs substantially from the prior version. Please note the key points below:

1 Clause 4.2: Based on recommendations from Standards Australia and the CEC, where an inverter uses two series-connected relays as the automatic disconnection device, the requirements of Clause 4.2 may be satisfied by simultaneous operation of the relays. This concession does not apply to single-relay configurations.
2 Multi-region testing: AS/NZS 4777.2:2020 specifies requirements for different regional settings. Test reports shall include result tables for Australia Region A (the site required under the standard. Result tables for Australia Regions B and C are not required to be included. However, the test report must state that the inverter is equipped with settings capable of meeting the setpoint criteria for Australia Regions B and C defined in AS/NZS 4777.2:2020, and list the corresponding set values.

Note: This change only applies to new applications and renewal applications submitted from May 2021 onwards. Certificates granted prior to this date remain unaffected.
